A concrete investment in energy efficiency and reducing environmental impact
Responsibility is a concrete commitment built through sound industrial choices, targeted investments, and a long-term vision. In this context, the new photovoltaic system installed at CITAL’s facility in Verzuolo (Cuneo, Italy) represents a meaningful step forward, aimed at improving energy efficiency and reducing the environmental impact of production activities.
The project was carried out under the Piemonte Region F.E.S.R. 2021/2027 Call for Proposals “Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy in Companies 2024”, Action II.2ii.2 – Promotion of the use of renewable energy in companies.
Renewable energy and a long-term industrial vision

The project involved the installation of a 99 kWp photovoltaic system, which became operational on 1 October 2025. Thanks to this investment, CITAL now generates more than 90 MWh of energy per year, covering most of its current energy needs for a large part of the year. The project was also developed with the possibility of a future expansion of the same photovoltaic system, in order to meet new company energy requirements.
This is a significant result not only from an energy perspective, but also from a strategic one: producing energy from renewable sources means reducing dependence on traditional energy sources, improving the company’s overall efficiency, and reinforcing a forward-looking industrial approach.
A tangible environmental benefit
The activation of the system directly contributes to the reduction of climate-altering emissions, with savings of more than 35 tonnes of CO₂ equivalent per year. This is a tangible figure that clearly demonstrates the positive environmental impact of the project.
The use of solar energy helps reduce reliance on fossil fuels, lowering the environmental footprint of production activities and supporting the transition towards an industrial system that is more respectful of natural resources. It is a choice that goes beyond immediate efficiency and reflects a broader sense of responsibility towards the local area, communities, and future generations.

An investment supported by the regional call
The project was supported through the following funding:
- CUP Code: J25H25000100006
- Funding awarded: €76,000 financing and a non-repayable grant of €19,000
Industry and responsible growth: an ongoing commitment
For CITAL, industrial innovation and environmental sustainability are not separate paths, but integral parts of the same vision. The photovoltaic system represents a further step forward in this direction: a concrete choice that improves the facility’s energy efficiency and strengthens the company’s commitment to increasingly responsible growth.
